| Bio: | Hey, I'm Django :D And yeah, in case you were wondering I do drag my coffin around like a dead man does, hee hee. I took the name from my all time favourite Italian western (more info here), with Franco Nero in the title role. I'm Scottish, male, usually unemployed, mostly easy going, a cat lover, occassional writer and a complete slave to my various passions, interests and obsessions. I've contributed articles to the excellent Horror Wood e-zine, as well as short stories, poems etc, but now I prefer to just write my journal and inflict my shamelessly Mary Sue fanfics upon my readers. Back in my younger days I was involved in the amatuer theatre arts scene in East Kilbride, which I enjoyed a lot at the time. Two things that I need to state to people upfront: a) I am anti-religious and often given to scornful remarks and angry rants at the powerful theocracies and persistent superstitions of the world. I try to hate the religion, love the religioner but it's not always easy. I know for a fact that there is no good force out there answering anyone's prayers and therefore I appreciate people keeping their fantasies or defences to the contrary out of my journal. b) I am a passionate and unapologetic Paris Hilton fan. I admire Paris, I love Paris, I enjoy Paris's work, I thrill to Paris's lifestyle. Paris has brought me a lot of joy and welcome distraction when I could have been depressed and no criticism or attacks on her will be permitted in my journal. Paris haters are the scum of the earth! I tend to go for the more creative and artistic side of life, but am usually unlucky in love. I believed in the force for good and the positive power of prayer yadda yadda. I used to have such admiration for Joan Of Arc and saw her as some kind of positive spiritual presence in my life. Now I don't know what I believe. Nothing seems to make any positive difference, the innocent are punished daily, injustice is rampant and not a single prayer of mine is answered. My mother was one of the kindest souls in this world, and when she was suffering and dying of cancer in 2006, not a single prayer of mine to this so called God, Saint Joan or any other saint, or any prayer from anyone else helped my mother in any way. There is no deity or entity out there that gives a fuck about any of us down here. I can't pretend to accept, understand or take comfort from my previous beliefs anymore. Studying atheism, engaging common sense and taking a look around me has revealed the truth. And as for something to believe in? Well, consumerism, personal freedom/expression and hedonism are pretty easy to understand and Paris Hilton has brought me more joy than any superstitious primitive beliefs ever did, so I opened up my own Django branch of the Church Of Hilton, dedicated to following the spiritual teachings of the great prophet Paris Hilton. If you find that the fictional god of old religions isn't doing his job anymore, replace him with someone or something else, whether it's Paris Hilton, The Flying Spaghetti Monster or just plain old atheism. At least choose something that makes sense and isn't just passed down from Bronze Age myths.
